Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes

Book Review by Brianna, 5th grade

Sadako was a 11 year old girl who died from leukemia. 10 years ago an atom bomb feel in China giving a lot of kid's leukemia. Sadako had a strange dizziness in her head when she ran. The dizziness soon got worse. One day she got so dizzy that she fell over. They took her to the hospital; and her parents and Sadako soon found that she had leukemia.

When her friend came she told her about the thousand paper cranes and if she finished them she could live. Sadako tried to finish them but she got too weak. One day she went to sleep and never woke up. Her friends finished the paper cranes and buried her with the cranes.

This book really inspired me to go and never give up and to follow my dreams just like sadako. When she died I started crying.It was a really great book, only nine chapters and sad but very inspiring. Also read the prologue and the epilogue. I really hope you read and enjoy this book because I know I did!
